Is it the Car OR the Man?
Simple question. Laws of attraction suggest positive thoughts bring positive feedback while negative thoughts bring negative outcomes. And then it goes even further to break it down into the 3 Laws - Attracting, Creating, and Allowing. Blah Blah Blah…..you get the point.
What I usually see is guys relying heavily on their whips to make that statement. Those in the game know what “statement” I’m talking about. You roll up to a Car-Meet and Greet or Car Show or just parking up in your city and wait for the oohs and ahhhs to confirm your build came out right. Spending hours, hell even years, sometimes on trying to get the car up to the point where it turns heads is rewarding enough. Even then, only you know the flaws that are still haunting you every time you drive your whip in public. If its cosmetic, you already have your answer lined up if they point it out. But if its mechanical, well then your praying she holds up. Once you get through making your presence on the road, you can put her back in the driveway and work on it the next day. Trust me, I know.
But with all of that, my view is, everything goes into the build and not the Man behind the build. Its no secret that cars evoke cool and tap into what being a car-lover means. Most tuners have a Dream Car that will be on the Lottery “to-do” list if they were to ever win. Might be a McLaren 720S, Ferrari F8 Tributo, Lambo Aventador, Ford GT, or for the Classic Men…..66 Jaguar E-type. For the millions of us who hasn’t hit the Loto yet…lol, our wish list is what we have in the driveway. Our Hell Cats, M3’s/M5’s, Supras, GTI’s, Mustangs, Vettes, Audis, WRX’s, Minis, GT-R’s, RX’s, Hondas, Acuras, etc. etc. Just to name a few….not to leave anyone out.
Built not bought, right. The same should go for the driver. Clothes should allow you to feel closer to your machine. The thing is, when you say clothes, most car guys picture models walking with briefcases and duck faces down a runway and a couple of high-end cars around the stage as props. Works for them I guess. For tuners, it’s no bueno. Printed T-shirt/Hoodie and jeans with sneakers is usually the formula.
My take on it is, put the same creativity into styling yourself to match your car to build a complete vibe. Especially when the intent is to make the “statement”. Of course I'm not talking about dolling-up to go to Auto Zone. Imagine if Dominic Torretto hopped out of his Challenger with leather pants and a belly shirt. Totally different movie, correct? Form should fit fashion and creativity is all part of the process for attraction. When you build, you should bring together ALL your products (i.e. body kits, engine mods, interior upgrades, clothes, accessories, etc.) so that you’re the complete package. It’s what I like to call the convergence of Man and Machine. No one more important than the other.
What’s your thoughts on it?
